Dr. Stepenosky attended Villanova University on a Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) scholarship. He graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. After serving four and a half years in the United States Navy, Dr. Stepenosky received his teaching credential from the University of San Diego, his master’s degree from California State University, Northridge, and his doctorate from the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Stepenosky was a high school science teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal in the Beverly Hills Unified School District and later joined LVUSD in 2006 as the Assistant Superintendent of Personnel. He was appointed Superintendent of Schools in 2012. Dr. Stepenosky has also served as an Adjunct Lecturer for the USC Rossier School of Education, California Lutheran University Doctoral in Education Leadership and Master’s program, and Concordia University Master’s program in Education Leadership.
